Parked in the inner courtyard of my apartment building on Via Privata Parenzo, Milan, where residents keep their bikes, on the evening of Friday 16 October 2026. It was gone when I went down around midday on Saturday 17 October. The bike was secured with two locks: a Kryptonite New York M18-WL U-lock and a Kryptonite Evolution 1090 90 cm chain. Both were taken along with the bike — no cut lock, cut chain or debris was left anywhere in the courtyard, so the bike was either lifted away intact or the locks were removed to be defeated elsewhere. The courtyard is enclosed and accessed through the building, and is not covered by CCTV; the door intercom does not record. The building manager confirmed that e-bike thefts happen in this area and believes the thief most likely followed me home — a known pattern locally. The bike had been owned for under three weeks, bought refurbished from Upway France on 27 September 2026. At the time of theft it had a rear rack with a basket fitted and had covered roughly 700 km. It is a dark blue German trekking e-bike, Bosch Performance Line mid-drive, frame size M. Identifying numbers: frame/eBike ID 2019020107 · Bosch motor serial 95521001435 · Bosch PowerPack Frame 500 battery serial 95521 0240 15 16 · Bosch Purion display serial 85919 5684 D3 · Upway unit reference RK4GA0. The Bosch motor serial is the definitive identifier — permanent, unique to this bike, and readable by any Bosch dealer through DiagnosticTool in seconds. Any shop asked to service this bike can confirm it instantly. Reported to the Carabinieri, Stazione Milano Porta Genova, on 17 October 2026.
