- Description of incident
-
Our bikes were parked at the bike racks in front of the Cowell's Beach Main Parking Lot (between Ideal Bar & Grill and Jack O’Neil Restaurant. At approximately 5:15-5:20 pm on 9/27/2026, our bikes were stolen. A bystander witnessed the incident. She said there were two thieves that were “homeless”. One if thieves was approximately mid 30-40 years old white male with copper/orange short hair. He has a hard shell backpack with a solar panel. This thief took the tan, specialized turbo tero pedal assist bike and headed down beach street toward the boardwalk. The other thief was dressed in a black hoodie and was hiding his identity, the witness could not give any description except for that the one in the black hoodie was the one that broke the lock and that he took with Transition Carbon pedal assist bike through the trussel next to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center headed toward the depot park.
