- Description of incident

On August 1st at 10:00 am I parked my Black RadCity Step-Thru Electric Commuter Bike Version 3 (Serial number CU3H21F1711) on the bike rack near the entrance to Franco's NOFRILLS at 640 Queenston Road. I locked up the bike with my usual heavy duty chain lock then headed in to do my 10-6:30 shift. After completing the shift I came out and found the bike rack empty and my e-bike stolen. The e-bike was parked on the bike rack near the grocery store and was there from 10 am to about 5:15 pm. The security footage from the grocery store shows the bike being stolen around 5:25 pm. The suspect was wearing a hat and glasses so it was hard to identify him but he was riding another smaller bike. According to local management the suspect has been warned for pan-handling customers near the entrance of the store which indicates the suspect is potentially unhoused. There is also a female (most likely homeless) who often sits by the buggies outside the entrance of the store and we believe she was involved in this incident as well. Once the suspect is able to get through the lock he drops the small bike he was riding and takes off on the stolen e-bike. Few moments later the female by the buggies goes and picks up the small bike and takes off with it. Based off this information the culprits are likely a white male and female unhoused. The female is a regular who sits near the buggies and confronts customers about donations or other things while the male has not been seen before.
