I'm the Director at Bike Walk Tompkins. I love and promote biking as a form of transportation. Bike theft sucks! I'm happy we are all doing this bike index thing, and attempting together to thwart bike thievery. I also highly recommend pressing charges if you can; there must be consequences or the thieves will just keep doing it. Hope you keep your bikes or get'em back fast.
