My bicycle is my transportation - is important to my ways and means as sustainable transportation. My Le Mond Sarthe is over 11 years old and is orange in color with cream and black and VERY weathered from significant time in the elements. My bike has a rebuild rear wheel - River City Bikes in Portland, OR where I bought my bike is where I have brought my bike for all the major repair/replacement/ maintenance for my bike. I have done maintenance on my own and also at Community Cycling Center in Portland, OR especially as over the past many years on trips into or through Portland, OR there has been significant theft incl. tampering of bike lock/ theft of bike bag and bike lights etc.,. River City Bikes JUST gave me estimate for replacement of gears etc. Campagnolo componentry so ready for the road again after over 20,000 miles of riding already on my bike. Their maintenance staff consider my bike at current state in need of major repair/replacement so ready for the road for how I ride. My bike still has street pedals which also need replacement. There is a panier rack on rear wheel. My bicycle is my own belonging - NOT THEIRS. I need my transportation.

Description of incident
Bicycle parked outside entrance to right of Denny's restaurant after 1am at pole near where staffperson was having a smoke break and my noticing that he noticed my bike lock wasn't great. I sat at a table for tea and to read late night and at 4am the same staffperson coming back in from another smoke break approached me to say my bike was gone. Cable lock cut and left in the grass and thermos that was in the water bottle cage a few hundred feet away in the street. I had just changed the bike seat (bontrager) and height/position because I am tall w/ 35" inseam likely wouldn't have allowed who stole my bike to ride my bike away from the restaurant. I had also just rotated the tires (Panaracer Pasela Protite) and new rear wheel w/ extra spoking that is less than a year old.
