Description of incident
The bike was kept in a bike room in the apartment complex at 3105 SW Barbur Blvd. The room is secured with a keypad and the bike was locked in the room with a U-lock and a cable chain. The bike room was broken into overnight between May 7 and 8th, 2020. Apartment management let us know of the incident on the morning of May 9. We had one white/blue Fuji brand bike stolen. The bike had accessories such as an under seat bag, water bottle holder, bike tools, cushioned seat, and a lock holder. It appears the lock securing the bike was drilled into with power tools. A second bike was also secured in the bike room. The thieves attempted to steal this second bike as well by drilling through the lock. They ruined the lock, but could not break it and the bike was not stolen. Several broken drill bits were left on the floor. We have reports that several other bikes were stolen from the room. A handwritten note was left in the room by the thieves saying that "we apologize for stealing the bikes."
