The Diamondback Apex Elite features an aluminum frame, Suntour suspension fork, Shimano hydraulic brakes and a custom mix of Deore, Acera and Alivio Shimano components. The frame, at the center of this bike’s design, is made from lightweight aluminum, which allows the bike to be maneuvered easily, giving better control and improved performance. Then Diamondback added an SR Suntour fork with 100mm of travel to provide bump absorption and a hydraulic lockout to improve performance on the road or while climbing a steep grade. Finally, a durable set of Diamondback SL alloy wheels feature doublewall rims and easily turn out the 21-speed drivetrain’s effort, while Shimano hydraulic disc brakes with 180/160 rotors provide plenty of stopping power, even in wet conditions.
