Description of incident
The best bike I’ve ever had was sadly stolen from me this past Thursday, Jan. 21st in San Mateo, CA. I had it locked to the same steel post I had locked it to hundreds of times over the past 3 years, just outside of the building where I work. The thief can be seen on the security camera footage using a pair of compact bolt cutters available at any hardware store for about $40.00 to snip the heavy duty lock cable which I’d been assured by the person who sold it to me was “theft proof”. There were other people walking by the place where it happened but they apparently didn’t notice or chose not to do anything about it. I’ve filed a theft report with the local police department, and they looked at the security camera footage but could not immediately identify the thief.
