I was visiting Oakridge, OR for vacation to camp and mountain bike with a couple friends. We arrived at 6:00 PM on Monday June 10th, 2019 and went for a bike ride on the Larison Rock Trail. After our ride it was dark out and we found a dispersed campsite just off of US Forest Service Road 21 in Westfir, OR 97492. Area was just of the road and next to the Middle Fork the the Willamette River. Coordinates (43.721022, -122.437393). There was a sign nearby that said
that the area was under surveillance. After setting up camp, eating dinner, and making a fire in the man-made fire ring we went to bed at 12:00 PM. One of my friends had my bike in his Dodge Ram Promaster Cargo Van and took it out while getting ready for
bed. He left it out next to the van and felt that it was in a safe location because it was tucked near the van that he was sleeping in. My front wheel was still in the van. I was sleeping in a hammock near the river. When we woke up at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019 my bike was missing. We actively searched the surrounding area and did not locate it. There was a
motorcycle that pulled off near the campsite a couple times. There was another black van located down the road and we searched near the van but did not see my bike. We then headed into Oakridge to Cog Wild, the local mountain bike shop to report the incident and give a description of my bike. Later that afternoon we
stopped at the Oakridge Police Department to file a report. My frame has external cables that are held on by electrical tape on the top tube. Size medium, black, missing front wheel.
