Bike was in my apartment garage, which should have been closed and locked (But people coming and going forget to close it). Then inside the garage, I had my bike locked within a fenced area for storage with a padlock. However, due to a design flaw with the gate, the latch that was secured by the padlock (to prevent the latch from lifting up to open the gate), was not wrapped securely around the pole. This meant that the thief was able to forcefully pull on the gate and bend the end of the latch enough to have access to the storage unit.
