The bike was stored to a secure free-standing bike rack in a locked parkade. The bike was secured with a Planet Bike heavy duty bicycle security chain. The chain was attached to the rack with a Magnum Plus mini U-lock. The thieves tried to drill the U-lock keyhole and tried to cut the U-lock with bolt cutters but were unsuccessful. The chain link was cut with bolt cutters and the cut link was left at the scene.
