awoken to sounds of thief cutting bike rack bungee cords with a knife attached to rear of van in Ventura harbor parking lot. cable lock attached to bike frame as thief pedaled away. brief on foot chase very unsuccessful. harbor employee immediately present. phone message left with harbor unreturned. Ventura police met me on location under 2 hours later. report filed.
