I would just like to let you know that my bike was just stolen yesterday next to the Berkeley City Library from insider the Kstreet flats apartment garage bike rack by the garage office. I talked to the man who works the office, Lamar who said that he hasn't seen anyone stealing bikes. In the past week I saw a few (hand saw) sawed-through U-locks in the KStreet garage and less and less bikes on the rack but I thought it was nothing too suspicious. I've also noticed that late at night sometimes non-Kstreet residents wander in the garage. My bike is a 1991 rasta-colored (faded satin red-yellow-green) Marin Bear Valley Mountain Bike that had a MasterLock combination lock. It has a 19" frame and a small tear on back of the seat. I believe the lock was cut through with a wire cutter and both the cable and bike was stolen.
