- Description of incident

At approximately 9:45am on 7/13/2022 I entered the control-access bike room of the Sedona/Slate properties on G1on the Slate side of the control-access garage. At this point in time I became aware that my bike was not in it's secured and locked position.
The bike in question is a White Trek 7.4 FX 22.5" Serial Number: SWTU081C6175J
The bike is secured by a combination steel/hard rubber cables through a D-Ring between the bike and the installed bike rack anchored to the cement in the building. The D-Ring requires a unique laser cut keys to release.
The locking on the bike is the OnGuard Pitbull DT U-Lock with 4-Inch Cinch Loop Cable.
I reached out to the building management to see if there had been any issues or thefts in the room. I was then made aware that in early April there was an incident specifically in this bike room. The building became aware on April 7th when a resident reported their bike stolen. Investigation by the Building Management Team and the Arlington County Police Department determined that multiple bikes were stolen as part of the same incident.
I was not made aware of the incident at the time by the building management due to an ongoing issue with their email distribution list that has since been fixed. I was only made aware of the event yesterday when I reached out to the management due to my bike being stolen from where I store and secure it.
There is still evidence today of the theft including cuttings/shavings of the lock left in small pieces of debris upon close inspection of the floor.
My understanding is that this is an active ongoing investigation and that Arlington Police Department was provided footage of the event in question.
