Description of incident
An individual who I thought I could trust offered to give my beloved Hyperscorpion a tune up - adjust the handlebars, replace some wiring, etc. when I reached out to this person via phone about the ETR of the bike, he completely changed his tone, calling me every offense word in the English language and then said I would not be getting my bike back. I wish I’d reported the theft right then and there because 2 days later the guy was arrested for a possessing a large amount of controlled substances and was booked into king county jail. By the time I got to the apartment he was staying in, everything of value was gone. I’ve no idea what has become of my bike. Ofc I’ve searched tirelessly, asked everyone who knew the degenerate, and I get many different stories. One person said he was planning on stripping my bike to replace parts on his bike. Another said it was sold to an unknown buyer, another insists they’ve seen the bike on the porch of another apartment less than 1 mile away. Ofc I want my bike back and I would still chase down any possible leads, if there were any. I did report the theft to the police and it didn’t sound like it was a case that they had the resources to actively pursue.
