Distinguishing features
Color: Dark blue frame with a glossy finish. The paint shows minor scuffs and wear, particularly near the bottom bracket and chainstay, reflecting typical usage. Frame Size & Design: The bike features a medium-sized frame with a slightly slanted top tube. The tube joints are visibly welded and reinforced, providing extra durability for off-road or urban riding. Gears & Drivetrain: Equipped with a standard multi-speed gear setup. It has a triple chainring in the front and a 7-speed cassette in the rear, allowing for smooth shifting over a range of terrains. The derailleurs and shifters are operational but show minor signs of use. Brakes: The bike uses traditional rim brakes, both front and rear, which are in good working order. The brake levers on the handlebars are black and slightly worn from use. Handlebars: The handlebars are flat, straight, and black, with wear visible on the grips. The right grip end has a small cap missing, exposing the inner handlebar tube. The handlebar stem shows slight rust and wear, while the cables for the brakes and shifters are externally routed, curving smoothly toward the frame. Tires & Wheels: The tires are thick, knobby, and designed for multi-surface riding, with a deep tread pattern ideal for gravel or rough urban surfaces. The tires are mounted on aluminum rims, which appear to be in good shape. Both wheels are secured with standard quick-release mechanisms. Saddle: The saddle is a basic black vinyl model, showing slight wear but no visible damage. It's supported by a standard seat post with a quick-release mechanism for easy height adjustments. Water Bottle & Holder: White water bottle that says 'Silvera for Seniors' is a sipper style 500 ml bottle and is on a metal bottle cage that is located in the vertical rod of the bike just above the front gear chain Accessories: Lock: A black coiled cable lock is attached around the frame, securing the bike when parked. Green Bag: A small green bag is mounted on the handlebar stem, possibly used for small items or tools. Reflectors: There are red rear reflectors and front-mounted white reflectors for visibility. Bar Code: The bike features a barcode sticker on the frame near the handlebar with the number "70410 01847." Distinctive Marks: The handlebar stem has visible rust and slight wear, while the grips show signs of extended use.

Description of incident
On 11 September 2025 I, Jigar Kanjani, discovered the theft of my bicycle, a dark navy-blue Supercycle Breeze 26-inch hard-tail mountain bike (barcode 770416-018417, item 71-1370), valued at approximately CAD $300. The incident occurred between 18:45 hrs and 22:30 hrs outside my residence at 333 17 Ave NW, Calgary, AB (Calgary Housing Company apartment complex). Timeline 18:30 hrs – I unlocked the bike from the exterior rack on the east end of the building (near the north-east corner) and performed routine maintenance: lubricated chain, derailleurs, brakes and handle joints. 18:40 hrs – Rode the bike south on 17 Ave NW for a brief test. 18:50 hrs – Proceeded to 7-Eleven (2417 4 St NW) to collect a free-Slurpee promotion. I secured the bike outside the store, entered for approx. 5 minutes, and returned with no issues noted. 18:55 hrs – Returned home and re-locked the bike to the same exterior rack on the east side of the building using a black braided-steel cable lock with combination dial. The bike was visually secure. 22:30 hrs – Came downstairs to depart for my night shift; the bicycle, cable lock and attached green handlebar bag were missing. No cut cable remnants were found, suggesting the thief removed both bike and lock. Property description Frame & finish: Dark glossy navy-blue, medium size, slanted top-tube, welded gussets, minor scuffs on bottom-bracket and chain-stay. Drivetrain: 18-speed (3×7) with operational Shimano derailleurs. Brakes: Front & rear V-style rim brakes, black levers. Handlebar: Flat black MTB bar; right-side grip cap missing; slight rust on stem. Seat: Narrow black vinyl sport saddle on quick-release post. Wheels/Tires: 26-inch alloy QR rims with thick knobby tires. Accessories: White 500 mL “Silvera for Seniors” water bottle in silver cage on down-tube. Small green stem-bag on handlebar. Red rear & white front reflectors. Black coiled cable lock (stolen with bike). Estimated loss Bicycle (current replacement cost): CAD $300 Cable lock: CAD $25 Accessories (bottle, cage, bag): CAD $20 Total estimated loss: CAD $345 Suspected method & persons involved I believe an unknown individual observed me returning from 7-Eleven and targeted the bike shortly after it was re-locked. The thief likely cut or picked the cable lock and removed it along with the bicycle. No witnesses have yet come forward, and no CCTV has been reviewed at this point.
