Please blame Bike Index, not me, for the unformattable ultra-super-paragraph. Bike Index needs improvement.
===========
Bike was inside locked/gated Highland Gardens Hotel base level garage Thursday night (the night of the major hotel fire in room 130), and was placed next to garage security station while security personnel, Tarik, either watched it happen or was distracted by negligence or apathy while the bike was rolled out of the secure garage and off the property by one of the hotel [guests].
==========
Theft occurred on cameras Thursday night at 1:30AM after the bike's unlocked status had been accidentally forgotten since 10:30PM that night as a result of the fire drama.
The bike is registered in this international Bike Index with its serial number that's at the bottom of the bottom bracket, hopefully not yet filed off and painted over.

THE HUNT
****************
UPDATE as of Monday, March 25, 2025:
*** THIEF'S NAME IS ANGEL CLUBFOOT. ***
(Info source is completely trustworthy as factually proven as ID'd from surveillance camera video footage.)
Angel Clubfoot is Hispanic / Latino, tall.
Angel Clubfoot is now homeless again and in a ton of trouble that made him homeless, including the theft of my very nice Rockhopper commuter bike.
=======
Rumored as seen attempting to sell the bike around Sunset Boulevard at Highland Avenue.
There are several cheap hotels there along Sunset, including programmed interim shelter at the Dusk Hotel half a block west up Sunset near LaBrea Ave.
======
Sunset Blvd at and around Home Depot by Target is a guesstimated area of sale attemps. Sunset Boulevard, from LaBrea Blvd to Western Ave and maybe Vermont Ave, probably mostly along Sunset around Western (Home Depot, food trucks, Ralphs, Target, 7-Elevens, lots of transients and consumers in one small radius, church food pantries, etc).
=====
Angel Clubfoot has my cheap West Biking oval foldable lock with keys to it and to my Abus lock that I have on-hand, so he can momentarily lock the bike to walk around nearby without being seen with it.
=====
He may be wearing my GLC Brooks sunglasses that are with the bike, shown in the photos here.
===========================
Bike's likely locations include large homeless tent encampments occupied by indigenous Hispanics.
Likely locations certainly don't exclude the MacArthur Park area and that Metro rail station street market, and anywhere in the whole area that stolen bikes often aggregate for "cleaning" and selling.
=====
Park areas, encampment sites, the entire Metro rail areas between and around the Metro rail stations, known transient / foot traffic areas are also high on that list of possibilities. The bike's thief and location is likely known by the zombied-out fentanyl and meth addicts who frequent and congregate at the Dorothy J & Benjamin B Smith Park at 7020 Franklin Ave directly across from the Highland Gardens Hotel (where the thief has now been discharged from shelter as a result) and nearby areas where shady addicts and thieves may collect, such as Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd, Highland Ave, Western Ave, Vermont Blvd, Beverly Blvd through Alvarado, Wilshire Blvd, 6th St, 7th St, and the entire Rampart and Westlake areas, Korea Town, Shatto Park, Lafayette Park, MacArthur Park, and the rest of the pits of hell further down and out towards and beyond Skid Row.
======
The bike will likely only be marketed by word of mouth.
Bike resell platforms might include OfferUp, Craigslist, WhatsApp groups, maybe FB, and perhaps pawn shops throughout the Metro area.
