My neighbor rang my doorbell at 3:30 am to let me know that my bike had been stolen. It was locked to the railing next to the stairs outside of our apartments, which go from our courtyard to the parking lot. The bike was removed but the locked front tire was left behind. A different bike, also missing its front tire, was in the bushes next to where my bike was locked. It remains there and appears to be in good working order other than the missing tire. I don't know if its owner is another resident of the building. Our courtyard is out of view and about 100 feet from the street, so I suspect whoever stole it has been to this building before or has been doing their research. This morning I jogged around the neighborhood and found pieces of the front fender, which they needed to cut to remove the bike, about a block south of my building on SE 61st Street. I rent the bike through Portland State University, so it has several barcode stickers on the frame near the rear tire. It is a black Fuji road bike, sized for an adult male (about 6'0") and it has red grip tape on the handlebars.
