stolen Trek 7000

My bike was stolen in my back yard ( open/ parking lot one). Police did not want to report crime as I do not have a receipt of purchase as I bought it at craigslists. The previous owner might have it. HOWEVER, I have seen the bike in my neightborhood, and today ( right now) it's locked on the pole IN FRONT OF MY APARTMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I AM SURE IT'S MY BIKE ( SAME COLOR, SAME MODEL, it's very unlikely to have the same type of this bike in the same block of a neighborhood in Queens).
