I ride my bike to work. The bike is an electric cargo bike with 2 child seats and a front basket. It is too large to park inside my work building at. It is also too large to lock to the bike rack as it would block the path to enter the building from the parking garage. I locked the bike to itself at 9:30AM about 30 feet from the underground entrance in a motorcycle spot in the parking garage where I go to work every day located at 18880 Homestead Rd, Cupertino, 95014.
I have done this many times over the past several months with no issue. I had a meeting at a different building and was returning at 3:30PM on August 8th, 2023 and saw the bike as I entered the building. When I came back to leave and go home for the day at 3:50PM, the bike was gone, my helmet was thrown to the side on the ground. I reported the theft to the building security and local authorities.
