Due to sentimental value, high reward for information that leads to return. Reward worth much more than the bike, especially with the worn out parts. Thief attempted to sell the bike online using Craigslist. Bike was listed for sale in Boulder Craigslist despite being stolen from Fort Collins, and had all components removed and interchanged with cheaper components, likely in an attempt to disguise the bike and sell better components separately. Police were of very little help in recovering bike, rather I posed as potential buyer of the bike and then confronted the bike thief. Bike thief denied stealing the bike and simply gave the bike back to me in order to avoid confrontation. It is likely the bike thief knew he had been caught and just wanted to cut and run as quick as possible to avoid getting in trouble. In the end, I was able to identify my stolen frame by the characteristic sticker that is on the top tube near the stem, and once I saw the frame in person I was able to visually confirm numerous other details that identified the bike frame as mine stolen nearly 6 months ago.
