Road bike, like new: Schwinn Fastback Comp, 2007 model, bright blue frame w/ black carbon forks and a black carbon rear seat stays (wishbone shape). Triple chainwheel, but with a racing-style frame, drop bars taped black, San Marco saddle, Cane Creek headset, Shimano Tiagra shifter/brake levers, and sidepull caliper brakes. It listed for $1,200+ in 2007. When stolen, the bike had a 30-year-old grey Eclipse seat bag with black mesh side pockets and shock cords hooked to black plastic ties on the rear dropouts. The bag was attached to the seatpost via another 30-year-old device called the "Seat Post Thing (SPT)", enabling handlebar bags to attach to the seatpost. (The bag was originally designed as a handlebar bag.) Btw, the bag contained my wallet and checkbook. Plus some groceries. The bike was taken with an OnGuard mini U-lock around the frame and rear wheel. It was just locked to itself, and left alone for 3-5 minutes. It appears that a middle-aged white man with short brown hair and a medium or husky build took the bike, walking it down SE Market, then down SE 21st Ave toward Hawthorne. (At the time, he was wearing a t-shirt with a sexist message regarding women, or a woman's 'place'. It was a noticeable t-shirt. Most likely, he lives in the neighborhood.)
sidewalk at SE Market St near SE 22nd Ave, from sidewalk alongside a backyard book sale at 1625 SE 22nd Ave. Reward: $500-800 or more (esp w/ my 30-yr-old bag & Seat Post Thing)
