Description of incident
My Super73 RX was stolen while locked outside of my apartment, the battery for the bike was store inside of the house and was not stolen with the bike. Around 1150pm, two bicycle riders were seen riding up the street on video camera, one of the bikes was towing child seat behind the bike. They stopped and circled around to take a closer look the bike on the side of the road before driving off. Shortly after 4am, the two returned on bikes, one with a child seat behind the bike and the other with either a child seat or something similar in tow. They made a quick circle of the area to see the bike was still there, went off camera and one of them returned with a back pack, walking just past the bike and then returning. At about 420am, the guy in the backpack began trying to free the bike and eventually took out a cutting tool, with sparks seen flying in the video. Moments later he drove off with the bike and apparently took the broken lock with him. The bike was tracked via an AirTag to either 85 or 87 Sherman St in Cambridge, Ma. When the police showed up to this location, they were unable to see the bike from the street and I was unable to get close enough to the bike to enable the Find Item function within the Find My app. Shortly after the police arrived, the Airtag location began moving across Cambridge before taking a significant stop at 16 Decatur St in Cambridge. After approximately 25 mins, the device then moved again, where just the Airtag was recovered on the corner of Brookline St and Erie St in Cambridge. The bike likely never left 85/87 Sherman St (unless it was in a car) as I was at the location at the time of the movement and did not see it on the street. Also, without the battery the bike achieves a very low top speed.
