Description of incident
Friends - Last night (Tuesday, June 7) my 2022 Gerard Cycles Force 100 carbon road bike was stolen from the QFC 7823 SE 28th St, Mercer Island, WA 98040 at approximately 7:40 p.m. Pictured below, the bike is black with white lettering and accents including a white shamrock on the rear of the seatpost. The bike has the Shimano Ultegra group-set and Shimano carbon wheel set, fizik saddle and a Garmin Edge 520 mounted on the top of the drops. Distinctive markings include two Gerard bottles, a comp number 311 on the seat post (same color as attached but diff number), and an Ironman Oceanside 70.3 comp sticker #1831 on the top of the cross bar. I left it leaned against the front door of the store directly below a security camera - out of my sight for no more than five minutes while I grabbed a chocolate milk 85 miles into my ride. Suffice-it-to-say it’s a sweet ride that has already lifted me to the podium in two triathlons this season, and is sorely missed. This is an important lesson that our bikes are at risk when left unattended - even in a presumably safe spot for a short time. If you run across it, please contact me via dm or contact the Mercer Island Police Department (425.577.5656). Case # 2022-4555. Thanks!
