- Novara Safari steel touring bike, "Springbok", named for its springy agility and the antler-like appearance of its closed-loop butterfly handlebars. This is my main ride. Can carry up to 40 lbs of cargo in the rear panniers, and could carry more if I installed front panniers.
- Xootr Swift folding bike, "Yadokari" (hermit crab in Japanese). This is for taking on semi-crowded trains, or for when I need to put it in a car. It has zero cargo capacity and I'm not fond of how it handles, but it is very convenient for those situations. My spouse and I both use it when appropriate.
- Specialized Sirrus Sport, "Zogu i Zi" (The Black Bird in Albanian). This was my first non-crappy bike. Has front and rear folding baskets currently installed. It's a good solid bike, but the aluminum frame makes for a somewhat harsh ride. It doesn't get much use these days. Named for an intersection called "Zogu i Zi" in Tirana, Albania where I used to get off the minibus from the rural town where I lived during my Peace Corps service. Also named for the black double-headed eagle of the Albanian flag.
- Yuba Supermarché, "Zou San" (Mr. Elephant in Japanese). The "bakfiets" (box bike in Dutch) cargo bike, capable of carrying up to four child passengers, or an adult passenger and child passenger, or 300 lbs of any cargo. Named for a Japanese children's song that I learned when I was a child. "Zou san, Zou san, ohana ga nagai no ne? Sou yo, kaasan mo nagai no yo." (Mr. Elephant, Mr. Elephant, isn't your nose long? It is, and my mom's is long too.)
