Narrative
Incident Description The bike had been left out on the driveway leaning on the driveway fence about 30' from the curb. A car had been parked in front of it but not for one night, and I believe that is the time it was stolen. My best guess was at night, but it is possible it could have been done in the daytime. There was no lock on the bike.
The bike was in excellent shape as it had been relatively unused and was stored for more than 10 years. It had surface dust and some excess grease, but was in near new condition.
Here is a link to a similar bike that is the same model, but a different color; my bike is primarily white with significant black and red detail and lettering.

It has a distinctly 'older' look as this was one of the earlier models with dual shocks - Front and back wheels. Newer models use thinner metal tubes, so this one looks almost 'clunky' because of it's wide tubes.
There were not a lot of these made, so the design stands out in a cluster of bikes.
I have pictures of the actual bike if you email me at paulwitort@gmai.com
serial
The equipment on the bike is all original, even the tires have 'Specialized" in white letters. The center of the seat has a small oblong hole (defect) that is about the size of a small watermellon seed.
the ID on the sprocket is PL976885 .
