Distinguishing features

22.5” frame, for a tall rider, 6’ or taller. The Trek 800 is an iconic mountain bike, and this one is in nearly perfect condition! With a triple front crank and 6 rear gears, it’s a 18 speed. While it was considered a mountain bike when new, in modern terms it is basically a flat bar gravel bike. This is a great all-rounder; with the right tire choice it can do whatever you want: neighborhood cruiser, commuter, trails, gravel biking or even technical mountain biking if you like a challenge compared to modern suspension bikes. Double eyelets front and back mean plenty of attachment points for fenders, racks, etc. The rear shifting is “indexed” meaning it clicks over into the next gear. The thumb shifters (“thumbies”) are really robust and durable, should give years of hassle-free shifting. Bike has new Continental tires, new grips, new cables and a fresh tune-up. It’s ready to ride! The bike is in excellent shape, with the exception of a few paint chips here and there, and cracks in the saddle (I’ve left the saddle as is for test riding, as riders usually have their own saddle brand and style preference anyway).
