As i write this (on Jan 26, 2020), altho the bike has many distinguishing features compared to most other bikes, there isnt anything very unique about this bike compared to other bikes of same year, make, and model except the serial number stamped into the steel frame under the bike (which was difficult to read even when the bike was new). Near the serial number is a removable white tag/sticker that identifies the frame model number and bike date code . Both serial number and frame model/date code are located under the bottom bracket, which is where the pedal arms meet the bike frame. See the included picture here of that area (look for a picture that features a rectangular white tag/sticker). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I cant seem to include any line breaks here to break up this text into paragraphs, so im putting dotted lines here instead. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The serial number is parallel to one edge of the cylindrical bottom bracket. With the bike upside down, when viewing the bike from the side, with the serial number characters right side up, the serial number extends from the 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock position along the edge of the cylindrical bottom bracket. Which makes it difficult to view or get a single picture of the entire 13-character serial number. But that serial number is durable. In contrast, the white tag/sticker nearby probably wont last long (oh well), but in the meantime its much easier to read than the serial number. If the info on that white tag matches the info on a bike that u think may hav been stolen, then the serial numbers might also match, confirming that yes, the bike was stolen. The white tag identifies the bike manufacturer (ie, Huffy) and includes (at the top of the tag) the 5-digit frame model number followed by the bike's 6-character date code. The date code simply indicates the date that the bike was manufactured, and nothing else like time of day. So the information on that white tag is not unique--instead, the info is shared with all the other Huffy bikes of same model that were manufactured the same day at the same factory. Nevertheless, that info is useful (if present on the bike and unalterred) because if it matches then maybe the serial number might match also. That 11-character alphanumeric sequence on the white tag/sticker of this bike is: 54599 17819Y -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If u suspect or know that a bike is stolen, and it looks like the bike pictured here, and the white paper tag under the bike has the above-mentioned sequence of characters, then i would greatly appreciate it if u take the time to check the bike serial number also. If the white tag is missing, please check the serial number before contacting me (see next paragraph). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is a description of the bike as purchased. Below that, at the end of this text, there are some tips on how to more easily read the bike serial number. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The color scheme of this 24-inch womens cruiser-type bicycle is purple and white, tho the white may yellow with age. Huffy currently calls this purple color pink, i dunno why. Huffy sells the same bike in real pink, but that bike has a different frame model number. Huffy describes this frame as "24G" which may refer to a subset of frame size and frame style within the larger set of frames made for all Huffy bikes named Nel Lusso. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The purple rear rack of this bike is welded to the purple frame. The bike has a purple front wire basket, purple metal chain cover, purple metal flared fenders at front and rear, and dark purple alloy rims with extra spokes and all-white, relatively wide tires (24in x 2.35in). Pedals and rubber hand grips are dual density for comfort with same color scheme. Matching cup & phone holder is attached to right side of the chrome steel butterfly-like handlebar near the hand grip (unlike pictures of this bike at Huffy.com, which i also show here, which shows placement of cup/phone holder close to the center of handlebar. The pictures from Huffy show nothing in the background). Matching wide seat (white with purple trim) has coil springs. The seat post is chrome steel with a quick release lever at the bike frame. A chrome steel kickstand is attached with one bolt near the pedals. Reflectors all around (not shown in the included picture from Huffy). Bike has only one speed (no other gear) with only a coaster brake (no rim brakes). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The bike features a seemingly thin, ornamental dark purple plate with yellow accent lines (long stem flowers, actually), attached between the top & bottom of the generally-diagonal frame members, visible from either side of bike. At the bottom of this plate is a round chrome-colored ornament indicating bike name and manufacturer. There are also many dainty, frilly light-yellow ornamental bands encircling the purple frame tubes at various places--at least one on the front wheel fork also indicates the bike name. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To read the bike serial number, turn the bike upside down and try rubbing some white toothpaste over the purple paint in that area. One of the pictures that i uploaded here shows part of the serial number near the white Huffy tag. It's not easy to read the serial number unless u first rub something with a contrasting color (like white toothpaste) into the indentations of the serial number stamping, then wipe off the surface of the metal but not too hard, leaving just enough toothpaste to read the serial number.
