I locked up my bike with a padlock & chain to a steel railing outside of Big Lots store. I went in to shop and spent about 20 minutes in the store. When I came outside, my bike, padlock and chain were gone. I started asking people in the parking lot and 1 guy said he seen someone ride away on a "nice looking green bike...there was a chain hanging from the handlebars" about 15 minutes or so ago. (He was smoking outside of his car, while his wife was in the store)
