Description of incident

On January 10, 2025 in the hours between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM my trek endurance bike was stolen from its chain and locked location. That location was 35 Lake St. which is located on the east side of St. John’s Presbyterian Church. I was attending a meeting from 7:30-8:30pm which takes place in one of the rec rooms of the church. I found the bike rack in front of the church empty so I locked my bike up with both a Ulock for the bike rack and a cable lock to secure the wheels to the Ulock and frame via a seperate pad lock for bikes. Once the meeting ended , I stepped out front and noticed my Ulock & cable lock on the ground hanging on the bike rack. Time of theft acknowledged was 8:39pm. I immediately looked for possible camera footage on both sides of the street my bike was parked and confirmed visually that there were no video recording devices located in the vicinity where my bike was parked. I then took photos of the seen of the theft. I also left a sign with my contact info on a tree next to the bike rack , asking to please contact me if there was possibly someone who witnessed the crime. I’m not sure what was used to steal my bike because i didnt hear any loud noises or yelling of any sort, which makes me assume whoever is responsible is probably a pro. I’ve been attending that meeting in that church for the last 3 yrs and for the last year i frequently cycled to and from without any issues. I’m shocked because the neighborhood is nice. I make it a point to refrain using my bike for transportation when i know i’ll be around the more crime ridden areas of the city. My bike is registered with Trek under my name. And I’ve reported my bike stolen via Treks website, so It’ll at least be difficult for whoever to tey and sell.
