Description of incident

I used my bike and then locked it up to a tree in my front yard at 4:30 pm on Monday October 7, 2024. I left my house at around 5:40 pm and didn't return until around 8:30 pm. Security camera footage at the front of our house captured the thief coming through the bushes on the side of our house at around 7:55 pm. It shows the thief trying to cut the u lock and cable with what I assume are pliers until 7:58 pm. They were unsuccessful and so they left through the bushes to grab a different tool and come back at 8:00 pm. They leave again a few seconds later to grab another tool and come back in again around 30 seconds later. You can then see them using a stronger tool that is creating sparks when applied to the lock. This lasted around 12 seconds until they successfully cut the lock, stand up and take the bike out of the bushes at around 8:01 pm. My roommate first noticed my bike was gone on October 8th at 10:30 am but I didn't notice until I needed to use it at around 1:30 pm on October 8th. The thief was wearing jeans, white sneakers, a neon pink hoodie, and what appears to be a towel and a hat over their head to conceal their identity. Our front yard is protected by a locked gate but has open bushes on the side.
