Description of incident

Bike was stolen from a bike locker at the Flats at Chase on Sunday (9/8/24). I found it was stolen at 2:45pm on Monday (9/9/24). Based on security footage, the thief entered the building through the back door at 11:50am, which we believe was propped open by people moving in. It isn't clear how he got into the bike locker room, but likely the last person who was there left it unlocked. He brought a paper bag from target with a socket wrench kit in it. He used a rotary tool with a "Dremel Max Life" cutting blade to cut through my chain lock. He left (from the other end of the hallway from where he came in) at 12:29pm and rode off towards the MLK blvd and Kinsrow ave intersection. He left the blade, the chain lock, the socket wrench kit, the paper bag, and a Target receipt from Friday (9/6/24) in the bike locker. We did not find the rotary tool he used. We presume the receipt is his, and on it are some sodas, doughnuts, and vitamin gummies. The bike was a yellow Velotric Discover 1 ebike, with black fenders and a black rear rack. It has scratches/chipped paint along the top tube, near the seat post, from where I kept the chain lock. There's a project 529 sticker right under the seat post clamp, on the back side of the frame. The battery wasn't very charged when I locked it up, like 2/5 bars, so I don't know how far the thief got. I don't recognize the thief and I haven't been storing my bike in that locker for long (used to keep it in my room). He didn't touch any other bikes, from what we can tell. The thief was male, around 5'10 and had a lighter skintone. He had a thin mustache. He was wearing a blue hoodie, blue pants/jeans, black sneakers, black sunglasses, a black crossbody bag, and had black over-ear headphones around his neck. There isn't a police case number yet, since I just reported it, but the reference number is 1011558.
