My 17.5" Frame, 26" Wheels, black and white, Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc was stolen from me on July 7, 2012. according to my own research and that done by the SCPD officers investigating my case, it has been resold three times since the night it was stolen. It has traveled from Downtown Santa Cruz, to another part of Santa Cruz, to the San Jose/Bay Area where the trail runs cold. This is apparently where it now resides. The buyer was a businessman in the San Jose area, the bike was sold for $475. I miss my bike and want it back. If anyone out there finds it or has it, please be my hero and return it to me. Here are the specifics of my case, prior to it's final known sale: At 7:00 pm on 7/7/2012, I parked and locked my black and white Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc in the alleyway behind Marini's Candy Shop and the Front Street Parking Garage in downtown Santa Cruz. I wove my Kryptonite lock through the bicycle rack, both wheels, and frame of my bicycle, thinking this would deter any thief from going after my bike. I went in to one of the local shops and grabbed dinner with friends. We came out around 8:00 pm and checked to see that my bike was still there. Since the alley was full of people going back and forth on their Saturday night, and the bike appeared to be in tact, we decided it was safe to see a movie. When we returned to get my bike around 10:10 pm, it was gone, and so was the Kryptonite lock. There are minor scratches on the right side of the frame. There was an "Another Bike Shop" sticker on the rear bottom inside of the frame when I lost it. This may no longer be on the bike. The bike had a minor shifting problem in second gear, that resulted in a bit of a hard shift when changing speeds in this gear, and was most noticeable on the uphill. There are minor cosmetic defects that ensure I can identify the bike as mine if it is found. Keeping my hopes up and fingers crossed that somebody out there comes across it and helps me out.
