Description of incident
I arrived and locked my bike on the bike racks outside of Gates Hall at around 10:27am on 11/15/2022. There were multiple bikes already locked I the area. I used two types of locks to secure my bike: a chain link and a u-lock. I ensured that both were secured before I entered Gates Hall. I stayed inside Gates hall until approximately 3:10pm on 11/15/2022, when I exited the building and approached the bike rack outside. Upon arriving at the racks, I could not find my bike. I found another bike locked in the same place that I had locked my bike this morning. I do not know who owns that bike or when they arrived. There was no trace of my bike anywhere. The only evidence that I had parked my bike there this morning was two discolored and cut chain links on the ground. The metal links were discolored. It potentially looked as if it had been burnt/soldered, and then cut. I collected the pieces and took them with me. I could not find my u-lock, or the rest of the chain link lock. I called UWPD's non-emergency line and filed a report online.
