Description of incident
I was riding from Charter Oak to Denison Iowa in the evening on Sunday, Jan 15, 2017. It started to rain and the road started to ice up. I stopped on the south side of Highway 141, between mile markers 45 and 46, and waited for a car ride home. A ride came, but I could not fit the bike in the car. I left the bike in the tall ditch grass on the south side of the highway, mostly out of sight. The ice storm lasted for over 24 hours, so I could not retrieve the bike immediately. I finally could check on Tuesday morning, but the bike was not there, even after walking a two mile section of the ditch on foot multiple times. The bike would have only been visible to cars traveling east, towards Denison. The bike also had a Bontrager (I think "Trip 100") cycling computer, a Bontrager rack, a Bontrager Ion 700 headlight mount (no light), a Bell portable air pump on the seat tube, and a Bontrager bottle cage on the down tube.
