Distinguishing features

Fuji Ace-SE Road bike 46cm (small/x-small) Xtra-Small Frame (46cm), with 650c wheels. Fuji Ace is *the* standard for junior road bikes and bikes for shorter people. The frame geometry, cranks, bars are all selected for the shorter rider, unlike some brands that just throw their standard build kit on the smallest frame they make. The stand-over is only 27.5”, and should fit riders as short as 4’8”, depending on inseam and fit preference. The butted 4130 cro-moly steel frame is robust and built to stand up to the abuse thrown at it by beginner riders or kids, but is still reasonably lightweight. Perfect for long road rides, commuting or just cruising. Shimano Sora 7 speed group and triple front gears make it a 21 speed with plenty of gearing for the hills in Austin. The bike is wearing great tires: Panaracer Paselas. Just tuned up and detailed, with fresh bar tape, this bike is ready to ride! Note: There is a cheaper version of this bike with “butterfly” style rocker shifters on the top of the handlebars. The Sora integrated brake/shift levers are better for two reasons: the rider can shift without taking their hand off the brake lever; and the Sora shifters train the rider to use the same style shifters that are on adult bikes. Also, this bike has standard threaded bottom bracket and 130mm rear axle spacing, so if you want to upgrade it later with higher-end gear, it’s a simple swap.
