My girlfriend found the thief/seller on Craigslist and arranged to meet him to buy the bike. I used the Bike Index to warn local shops that the thief was trying to sell it locally, so he was forced to sell it back to us via the internet at a very reduced price. oversatt fra engelsk

Not to be over exuberant or anything, but I'm ecstatic. A guy named Sam called last night, said he was working with the police and he was almost certain this was my bike. I took the bus down to the Seattle Police Southwest Precinct this afternoon, and low and behold, there it was. Almost 2 months later. Thank you so much, Bike Index. oversatt fra engelsk

My bike was stolen back in September. I registered it on Bike Index. Every few weeks I would get a link sent to me through Bike Index asking if this was my bike. They weren't, and I had pretty much given up hope on finding it. Then someone sent me a link to a bike that looked exactly like mine. I arranged to buy it. I met with police, who instructed me how to go about the purchase. They intercepted the purchase as soon as it started, and I got my bike back. oversatt fra engelsk

A Seattle police Detective recovered my bike at the thief's homeless camp site at a Queen Anne Park about three weeks after it was taken from my secured parking garage. The surveillance video and the bike index registration played a part in my bikes recovery. I believe that the thief has been arrested. oversatt fra engelsk

The detective recovered my frame and the majority of my other parts in a record breaking 24 hrs after I spotted the bike.
