Description of incident
On Saturday, June 27th, I moved into Division St Lofts from my previous residence and on Tuesday, June 30th, I moved my bike from my previous residence into the interior secure bike storage at Division St Lofts. I did not check on my bike from June 30th until July 23rd, but in the afternoon, I walked downstairs to the secure storage room, only to discover that it had been stolen. I immediately walked from the secure interior bike storage room to the office at Division St Lofts to report the theft. Building Management reviewed the security footage and confirmed that the thief broke into the bike storage room using a crowbar and somehow removed my bike from the wall and the premise (even though it was attached with a u-lock). They also confirmed that it was the third or fourth bike theft (in the area) within a 3-4-week period. Lastly, if you live in an Apartment Building run by a corporation, confirm that they are liable for your bike if you store it in their facilities. If they are not, store it in your apartment. I was told that building management is not responsible for my bike in any way and that they would not compensate me whatsoever for the incident, even though they advertised this bike storage room as secure (and still do).
